Manage and analyze GIS data to create plans, charts, and reports, maintain a spatial database of the Agency's properties and infrastructure, and provide training on GIS usage.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography or Planning from a recognized tertiary Institution
  • Specialized training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and or Information Technology.
  • A minimum of two (2) years related experience 

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of GIS software and application
  • Understanding of GIS application in physical planning! infrastructure planning
  • Oral and written communication
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Collect, input, analyse and retrieve data relevant to the effective use and operation of a GIS in the Agency.
  • Provide plans, themes, charts, graphs and reports from GIS database.
  • Maintain a spatial database of all the Agencies properties, land, project sites, road networks and related structures etc.
  • Classify and process geographic information using standard Rules and established procedures and practices.
  • Extract pertinent data relevant to the Agency's land information requirements in a form accessible to a variety of the end users.
  • Analyze and retrieve data for research.
  • Provides training to other members of the Agency in the use and manipulation of GIS.
